Come along for the ride!
I promised you behind-the-scenes publishing details, and I am here to deliver! The vague publishing news I mentioned in my last newsletter is this: I have new book deals, and I’m taking my paid subscribers along for the ride in real-time before things are even official and announced. You can see how things work step-by-tiny-step, what publishing timelines are actually looking like these days, and how the whole workflow is structured. You can also get a peek into my daily balancing act, habits, and regularly-scheduled breakdowns as I try to maintain my faith in these projects, the publishing industry as a whole, and myself.
I figure the best thing to start with is with the projects themselves: what they are, when I wrote them, when they went on submission to publishers, when they went off to acquisitions, and when the offers came in. I searched my email for exact dates and everything. I’m going to leave some details out until the official announcement is closer, such as publisher, title, plot, and so on, but I’ll tell you enough to get a clear picture. This news is still not public, so I’d appreciate your discretion.
So, without further ado, let’s meet our projects and their submission timelines!
